CZECH REPUBLIC – SPEEDS, TOLLS, TRAFFIC REGULATIONS

GENERAL INFORMATION

Our southern neighbor is a frequent destination and a popular transit country. It is a good idea to learn the traffic rules of the country before traveling through this small but charming country to avoid unnecessary stops at the police station.
The document for entry into the Czech Republic is an identity card valid, at least 6 months, or a passport valid, at least 3 months.

REGULATIONS AND PENALTIES

• only people who are at least 18 years old are authorized to drive vehicles
• It is mandatory to drive with dipped headlights on all year round
• in the event of a traffic jam on the highway or expressway, create a 3-meter free passing lane
• anti-radar use is banned
• In built-up areas, watch out for pedestrians, they have absolute priority at crossings
• individuals up to 12. years of age (or up to the age of 18 if they are less than 150 centimeters tall) may travel on highways and expressways only in car seats or two-point seat belts. On other roads, this obligation applies only to the seat next to the driver
• Speed limits in the Czech Republic are very strictly enforced. In addition to the police, the municipal police also have the right to impose speeding fines.
• Lack of PL sticker on the vehicle may end up in a fine, this does not apply to cars with the so-called. EU license plates

ROAD TOLLS

The Czech Republic has more than 800 kilometers of highways and expressways.
