A boring garage, still the same bland workshop at Cześek’s, or maybe a trade show booth that is no different from any other? You know it, and so do I. I don’t know why this happens, but in all these cases, I end up with sad-ass uncomfortable chairs, classic tables with no expression and armchairs that look like someone stole them from Deutsche Route Kreuz. You will probably say that more important than the appearance is the quality of service offered, but couldn’t both be at a satisfactory level? Is a clean mechanic with a team in identical suits something that’s offensive? Is inviting me to the office of the workshop, where one does not sit on a chair that remembers the days of Gierek and see tables with dirty glasses, some kind of exaggeration, luxury?
Thinking what needs to be done to change this, I searched for solutions on the web, looking for an alternative for a trade show booth I came across the perfect solution for the examples described earlier. It started as usual, some fey, a short conversation on messenger, then an invitation to an event we were organizing. At the end there was a visit to where these so-called “new” products are made. alternative wonders that are called “From another barrel” furniture.
At the very beginning one thing surprised me, the age of the man who creates exceptional furniture. I wouldn’t have given him more than 22 years. When he started talking about his experiences with clients, with contractors, how the first piece of furniture was created, etc., I sensed one thing, that whatever he does not do, he does it with passion. After years of business conversations, I’m extremely quick to catch that “something” that either has a financial stamp (I’m not criticizing working for money, more stinginess and greed), or arises from passion. These beats make an electrifying impression in live contact. Wonderfully selected, special, often expensive paint finishes, designed upholstery, details in finishes, or even the way they are packaged. This causes you to look at them not as barrel-chested furniture (remember, this is not recycled furniture but new products), but as works of art. Admittedly, I have seen with my own eyes how Irek Bieleninik danced a whole piece of Slawomir on them, but I would never have thought of putting a pair of shoes on them.
I write about them because I know that many of you have your garages and in them parked “beloved”. If you have no idea how to decorate your garage so that you can invite your friends to it for a glass of whiskey, or are looking for an alternative for some uncommon form of promotion at the trade fair booth, I invite you to contact Maciek Karpinski (don’t let his young voice fool you). He makes miracles out of barrels, miracles that you will also be able to see at our booth during the MOTOR SHOW Motor Show in Poznań, in April! You are cordially invited, you will be pleasantly surprised, as I was!
