GENERAL INFORMATION
This beautiful and historic country, located at the southern tip of Europe, is a frequent destination for organized and individual tours. However, Italian traffic regulations are a bit different from Polish ones. It is worth learning about these differences to save yourself unnecessary stress and expense during your vacation.
To enter Italy you are entitled to have an identity card valid for at least 6 months or a passport valid for at least 3 months.

REGULATIONS AND PENALTIES
- only persons who are at least 18 years old may drive the vehicle
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs, is punishable by a fine of up to €6,000, imprisonment and even confiscation of the car
- Drivers of vehicles registered outside Italy are required to pay fines on the spot. In the event of non-payment of the amount due, the car must be left in the designated deposit parking lot until the amount due is paid.
- Outside built-up areas, there is an obligation to use dipped headlights 24 hours a day
- on some roads, especially in mountainous areas, it is mandatory to use winter tires or anti-skid chains

ROAD TOLLS
The amount of the fee depends on the vehicle category and the length of the highway section. In addition to cash and credit cards, we can make payments at the gates with special magnetic cards. In addition, tunnel tolls are charged.
SPEED LIMITS
In a built-up area, the speed limit is 50 km/h. Other restrictions are outlined below.
