The Rolls-Royce brand has been famous for its above-average engines since its beginnings. At first, they were created mainly for #aircraft, but in the 1930s. of the last century, they have also found applications in power boats.
These were no ordinary boats.
They were called #Bluebird K3 and K4.
Their construction was commissioned by Sir Malcolm Campbell, a racing driver known for setting numerous speed records. One of them has just been achieved with the Bluebird boat #K4. In 1939, cruising the surface of Lake Coniston Water in England, Campbell managed to reach a speed of 228 km/h.
To commemorate this special event, Rolls-Royce has created a limited edition of 35 copies of the #Phantom Drophead Coupé model. Named the Waterspeed Collection, it alludes to the high standards that Sir Campbell used to set records.
